A Date with a Dog
Today we ventured off to Hongdae (Hongik University) to Bau Haus Dog Cafe. We took Line 6 to Sangsu Station and used Exit 1. You walk around the exit and walked up the street towards the university. (A Paris Baguette should be at your right). Then you walk a little ways and then turned left at the street that right by the 7-11. It’s down that road on the right. You can find good directions on Google Map (and it’s even better if you read Korean!)
The wait was long (like 50 mins) but you can play with the dogs while you wait, and that’s kinda why you go anyway. You can also share a table with some random people and that cuts off on the wait time.
You have to buy one drink once you’re seated (it’s quite over priced but you’re really paying to hang out)They have coffee, tea, soda, juices and shakes. They also have food, but good luck with that. I watched some poor kid try to eat a snack and that didn’t work out in her favor.
You can buy treats for the dogs, which I recommend if you want attention from this four legged folks. Treat bags range from 3,500 won to 7,000 won. Also you have to feed them the treats you can buy there cause some doggies have allergies. I also suggest getting a pair of scissors so you can cut the treats (some are chewy treats and are impossible to cut without scissors)
Anyway we had a great time watching and petting and feeding the dogs. There are two cats there but I didn’t see them, maybe they don’t come out till late night.
I wish there were more places like this in the states. It was so cool.
